Every rule below comes from Breakout's own help center, linked and dated. Breakout is owned by Kraken and uses the same rule set as Kraken Prop — but the accounts are separate.
Last checked against the official help center: 15 October 2026From published rules Not yet confirmed with the firm in writing. We have asked; this page will say so when they answer.
“Breakout is gone — it's Kraken Prop now.”
Breakout still runs its own help center and sign-up. Kraken says the two are connected but “the accounts are not directly connected”. The rule sets match: 1-Step Classic / Pro / Turbo have the same limits as Kraken Prop Starter / Intermediate / Advanced, and Spark matches Kraken Prop Lite.
The daily limit is 3% of your balance at 00:30 UTC, open positions excluded — but the breach is checked on equity. Breakout's own example:

|---|---|---|---|
| Daily loss | 3% of your balance at 00:30 UTC, excluding open positions. Recalculated every day. Same in evaluation and funded. | Official | Help center |
| Breach check | Equity — open P&L included. Touching the limit closes positions and disables the account. No refund, no reset. | Official | Equity limits, Breach |
| Max drawdown | Static from the initial balance: Classic 6%, Pro 5%, Turbo 3%. It never moves up. | Official | Classic, Pro, Turbo |
| Spark ($50K) | No daily limit. Floor $1,500 below your highest-ever closed balance, recalculated at 00:30 UTC, checked against equity. It never locks — it keeps trailing after you are funded. | Official | Spark drawdown |
| Profit targets ($100K) | Classic $10,000 · Pro $12,000 · Turbo $9,000 · Spark $3,000 on $50K. No minimum or maximum time. | Official | Plans, Time |
| 2-Step | No longer sold. Existing accounts: 4% daily, 6% static. | Official | 2-Step |
| Payout and daily limit | On funded accounts a payout widens the daily loss limit by the payout amount ($101,850 → $96,850 after a $5,000 payout). | Official | Payouts |
| Leverage | 10x BTC; 5x ETH, SOL and others; 3x and 2x on smaller coins. Reviewed periodically. | Official | Leverage |
| Fees and funding in the limit | Not stated on Breakout's pages. Kraken Prop (same rule set) counts 0.04% commission per side and margin funding. | Not stated | Compare Kraken Prop |
| Hedging | Allowed inside one account. Across accounts — yours, other traders', or correlated assets — prohibited. Copy trading prohibited. | Official | Hedging |
| Bots / API | Not addressed. Banned: latency or pricing exploits, off-the-shelf systems “marketed specifically to pass evaluations”, several accounts from one IP or device. | Not stated | Prohibited practices |
| Platform | DXtrade or the Breakout terminal. | Official | Platforms |
A bot or spreadsheet that resets at midnight gives you 30 minutes of room that doesn't exist.
Open positions are excluded from the 00:30 snapshot, but a floating loss can still touch the floor at any second.
Once you are below the starting balance the static floor is closer than the daily one.
Unlike most trailing drawdowns, it does not lock at the starting balance — not even after you are funded.
Long BTC on one account and short a correlated coin on another is a cross-account hedge.
15 Oct 2026 — First check against the Breakout help center (articles dated 3 Sep 2026). Breakout and Kraken Prop share the rule set but are separate accounts. Older Breakout pages (2025) describing 5% daily / 8% trailing are outdated.
